[6:43] <eQuiNoX___> hey guys, is there a chart out there somewhere detailing system call numbers for various syscalls on raspbian? something like this http://docs.cs.up.ac.za/programming/asm/derick_tut/syscalls.html for ARM.
[6:47] <Odie_> I'd expect the numbers are same for same revision of the kernel, and because it's one of linuses laws not to break things in kernelspace that would need fixing in userspace, also the numbers should stay where they are once they have been fixed
[6:47] <Odie_> so for the most common syscalls, I'm pretty sure the numbering is exactly the same as in that table
[6:48] <Odie_> ofcourse registers etc are different since cpu is different architecture

However since a few days now everytime i reboot all apps installed using apt-get or filechanges (even in /home/pi/gpio) are lost after a shutdown now or reboot. Anyone can give me any pointers how to fix that?

[16:13] <DarylXian> Hi. I've added a jessie repo to my raspbian wheezy's sources.list, pinning it to prior=100. Iiuc, that's SUPPOSED to allow me to install as-needed packages from jseeie, but normal update/upgrade will stick to wheezy repos.
[16:13] <DarylXian> This is what I setup: http://pastebin.com/JeMduZfW , but when I upgrade, LOTS of packages are getting upgraded to jessie pkgs. What have I done wrong here? How do I prevent to mass-upgrade to jessie?

[16:24] <Dagger> (apt pinning is black magic to me, I have no idea what I'm doing with it)
[16:24] <Dagger> it also doesn't work for `apt-get source`, so if you use that you have to manually add/remove repos from sources.list anyway :/
[16:25] <DarylXian> Dagger: join the club. I read this, https://wiki.debian.org/AptPreferences, half a dozen times, and still -- obviously -- can't get this right!

[20:03] <DarylXian> shiftplusone: heh "is" or "was"? that's the point -- does XBMC-native-on-Rpi benefit, or not, from omxplayer? Does it have it's OWN, integrated pi-bkend now?
[20:03] <DarylXian> er, its

[20:25] <shiftplusone> k, I wouldn't expect a build system to be that logical. You usually need to explicitly state everything you need enabled, even if one option should imply another. I don't see how xbmc on the pi could work without those options enabled as well.

[20:32] <shiftplusone> seems like a design choice to me. Looking at configure.in, the platform sets the CPU, whether it uses omx, the CFLAGS/CPPFlags, whether it's gl or gles and so on, but not the video backend. I suppose because xbmc is cross-platform and certain platforms can have multiple backends. In those cases, it wouldn't make sense to assume a backend, so perhaps they're doing so on platforms which only have one backend for consistency.
[20:32] <sraue> shiftplusone, --enable-openmax is possible a leftover, but looking in configure.in it seems --enable-player=omxplayer --with-platform=raspberry-pi is needed

[20:59] <shiftplusone> did you even install those libs though? (the broadcom/pi ones)
[20:59] <DarylXian> you mean the libgpg* ?
[20:59] <shiftplusone> no
[20:59] <shiftplusone> libraspberrypi0 libraspberrypi-dev
[20:59] <shiftplusone> then I used LDFLAGS="-L /opt/vc/lib/" ./configure --with-platform=raspberry-pi --enable-player=omxplayer

[21:01] <DarylXian> hm. nope. looking ...
[21:01] <shiftplusone> now it's complaining about libxml though
[21:01] <shiftplusone> did you bootstrap raspbian or use an image?
[21:02] <DarylXian> shiftplusone: I'm working on/in BManojlovic's script-generated-chroot on Opensuse ... it builds off a DL of master.zip
[21:02] <shiftplusone> we're using the same approach then
[21:03] <shiftplusone> it uses a bootstrap
[21:03] <shiftplusone> so you'll need to change your sources.list to include the raspberrypi repo

[21:03] <DarylXian> shiftplusone: Well THAT might explain it! (how'd I miss that?) adding now ...
[21:04] <shiftplusone> I asked you earlier if you were using a cross-compiler or a straight chroot. You said just chroot, but the true answer was that you are indeed using a cross-compiler.
[21:04] <shiftplusone> (which may, and probably will, introduce its own problems)
[21:04] <shiftplusone> the one I am having now seems to come from it
[21:05] <shiftplusone> actually, no, it's complaining about bluetooth now.
