[3:21] <McGooch> I get an error message when plugging a USB flash drive (using Raspbian on Pi3) Error: "No object for D-Bus interface"
[3:21] <McGooch> I don't get the error when plugging the drive into my Ubuntu desktop
[3:22] <McGooch> Also, one of the CPU's stays pinned at 100% and the activity light on the drive is flashing continuously
[3:23] <McGooch> Anyone else seeing problems with connecting flash drives?
[3:23] * shakes (~shakes@50.65.90.134) Quit (Quit: Leaving)
[3:23] <stiv> i would suspect demonic possession, but i'm kinda new to the whole pi thing
[3:26] <McGooch> So is D-Bus for Demonic-Bus?
[3:26] <stiv> heh. I always wondered
[3:26] <McGooch> :)
[3:27] <stiv> on a 'normal' linux box, there are udev rules that govern what happens when stuff is plugged in
[3:27] <stiv> usually something gets written to the system log
[3:28] <methuzla> what's a 'normal' linux box?

[4:41] <R4F_Debian> Hi all, is there a specific hardware manual for raspbian ?
[4:42] <methuzla> no
[4:45] <R4F_Debian> Hi methuzla, thanks, in this case, is there any generic channel more appropriate for learning raspberry Pi ?
[4:46] <methuzla> here and #raspberrypi
[4:47] <R4F_Debian> I see, well, thanks for information, methuzla

[19:04] <grondilu> no hdmi screen anyway.
[19:05] <grondilu> and no usb keyboard
[19:06] <grondilu> meh YOLO I'll try
[19:07] <migario> just let one device do it's work. in case you do have access to thre router at al times, then make the pi follow the router. afaik there is no need for special setups for the pi to have it let a static ip address (unless you really need it). Simply use your router for that (as you said you did).
[19:08] <migario> no need to fiddle with all those settings
[19:08] <grondilu> except that it does not work after a reboot of the router as I said.
[19:09] <grondilu> and it's annoying.
[19:09] <migario> yeah, but i wonder if that is because you fiddled in the first place ;-)
[19:09] <migario> do note, that some routers are not following rfc 100%
[19:10] <grondilu> I tried to add the allow-hotplug thing but that was only as an attempt to solve this very issue. I don't think I've ever touched it apart from that.
[19:11] <grondilu> tough I'd be glad to check if my /etc/network/interfaces is different from the stock. Not sure how to check this.
[19:11] <migario> some packages can do that automatigally for you ...

[23:02] <TH3-G0D5> I'm trying to install raspbian jessie lite on a 16GB memory card, I've used windows diskpart to partition the card as a single 16GB primary partition which is showing up fine as in both diskpart at the command line and the windows GUI partition manager.
[23:03] <TH3-G0D5> I then use win32diskImger to copy the image to the sd card but afterwards I get a 100 meg boot partition and a 1.2GB parttiton.
[23:04] <TH3-G0D5> how do I get the OS to use the entire sd card?
