[1:03] <Prinler> lol
[1:03] <Prinler> Can someone help me please geting this ps3 controler working on my pi pls!
[1:03] <Prinler> Im attempting to use retropie and have spent days and days attempting to configure the controlers via bluetooth.
[1:04] <Prinler> Bluetooth dongle is recognised and i can get all the way into these tutorials until it need to compunicate with the controler. Via usb it shows up but as soon as i unplug it... i get nothing. It wont pair.
[1:05] <Prinler> I would be happy just using it via USB and i cant get it to work that way!!!
[1:06] <Prinler> Anyone have any experiance here?
[1:09] <Prinler> Anyone?

[2:13] <gnarface> Prinler's bluetooth problem may not have anything to do with raspbian. my bluetooth dongle has not worked for anything other than responding to ping since squeeze
[2:13] <gnarface> (and yes, i know its not hardware failure, because i still have some squeeze boxes around that still work fine with it

[5:57] <srini> is there any tool box like opensuse to build an os for Raspberry pi
[5:59] <Syliss> you mean like slax?
[6:03] <srini> open SUSE
[6:04] <srini> by using open studio we build our own distribution
[6:04] <Syliss> slax has that too
[6:04] <Syliss> and no there isn't one for pi yet
[6:04] <Syliss> open studio is kinda meh
[6:04] <srini> is it support arm v6 arch

[6:05] <srini> i will cross tool chain

[6:06] <srini> no

[6:07] <Syliss> would be a good idea tho
[6:07] <Syliss> but implementing it could be tricky
[6:07] <srini> how can i buil my own distro for raspberry pi
[6:08] <vagrantc> what do you mean by distro?
[6:08] <Syliss> he pretty much wants a base that can be added to before the 'install'
[6:08] <srini> i want to make one custom distribution for raspberry pi
[6:09] <vagrantc> just a custom selection of packages?
[6:09] <srini> i selected some packages
[6:09] <srini> then
[6:12] <srini> i selected some packages which are useful for children in their learning process .The thing is i want build one distribution with that packages
[6:13] <srini> i tried in open Studio and Open Elec and in Yocto Projects to build a distribution
[6:13] <vagrantc> qemu-debootstrap, chroot, apt-get install ...
[6:14] <srini> qemu-debootstrap, i tried
[6:14] <srini> chroot need to build
[6:14] <srini> but i don't know how to build for a ARM v6 architecture
[6:15] <vagrantc> that's what qemu-debootstrap does, builds a chroot. no need to compile it, raspbian contains thousands of packages...
[6:15] <vagrantc> raspbian is built for armv6

[7:00] <ksk> hello there
[7:11] <hifi> srini: you can also use raspbian-ua-netinst which can install your custom packages
[7:12] <hifi> the process could be that you use it to generate a base image and then do some post processing and distribute the resulting image
[7:13] <hifi> though that blog post bascially does somewhat the same
[7:14] <hifi> but it's probably not what you want as it does all the work on the actual pi rather than qemu

[8:22] <mac-> hey
[8:22] <gnarface> 'sup?
[8:22] <mac-> anyone use midori web browser ?
[8:22] <gnarface> i recently tried it for the first time on my pi
[8:22] <gnarface> its definitely faster but its weird to control
[8:23] <gnarface> what do you think of it?
[8:23] <mac-> I used it week ago
[8:23] <mac-> and worked nice but now there was uopdate and it sucks
[8:23] <gnarface> a shame
[8:24] <mac-> it consumes more tan 500MB of swap rapidly and returns 'Ooops there is a problem with web page'
[8:24] <gnarface> yea the interface seemed conceptually different in a way that seemed useful to me but not very well thought out
[8:24] <gnarface> eek
[8:24] <gnarface> might be the web page though, to be feair
[8:24] <gnarface> *fair
[8:24] <gnarface> what web page?
[8:24] <mac-> i.e. allegro.pl
[8:24] <gnarface> hmm
[8:24] <mac-> moreover I'm unable to save attachment form webmail
[8:25] <mac-> when I could in the past
[8:25] <gnarface> eek
[8:25] <gnarface> sounds like a big regression
[8:25] <gnarface> have you looked for possible other causes?
[8:25] <mac-> big? a huige one ?:p
[8:25] <gnarface> could just be a memory leak
[8:26] <mac-> I guess that is a memleak
[8:26] <gnarface> which raspbian are you on? the foundation's pre-installed one or the manual install?
[8:26] <mac-> I'm on ArchARM
[8:26] <gnarface> oh
[8:26] <gnarface> i see
[8:26] <mac-> I use RPi as desktop
[8:27] <mac-> except movies it works very well
[8:28] <mac-> bottleneck is lack of 2D acceleration
[8:28] <mac-> I tried wayland but it is still only a demo
[8:29] <gnarface> you don't like raspbian?
[8:30] <mac-> just started with Arch and stayed on it
[8:30] <gnarface> really? so you never *tried* raspbian ?
[8:31] <mac-> on the beginning of RPi use I had problems with delivered SD card and tried Raspbian but because of SD card it crashes quickly :p
[8:31] <mac-> crashed
