[11:00] <marcushh777> __raven_: the raspberry PI does not have a PMIC
[11:01] <marcushh777> __raven_: you must shutdown, or issue the poweroff sequence to shutdown the system

[11:34] <idonob> hi
[11:35] <idonob> so recently I've been kind of excited to have a raspberry pi to play with, finally found the time to get raspbian onto the SD card
[11:35] <idonob> I have a Pi 2 model B and a 16GB card, all good there
[11:36] <idonob> but for some reason I can't get PiPackages/PackageKit to work
[11:36] <idonob> I can install single packages one at a time, but anything that has dependancies fails strangely
[11:36] <idonob> I succeeded at installing tmux through PiPackages by itself with no problem
[11:37] <idonob> Trying to install, say, anything for arduino software, seems to select multiple dependant packages (a good thing), then it exits without installing or downloading anything
[11:38] <idonob> if I reopen it, the previous set of packages is still selected, but there's no "pending" category
[11:40] <idonob> nevermind, this program just defies all my expectations of how GUIs behave.
[11:40] * superslacker (~superslac@S0106001a4d5acdf9.cg.shawcable.net) Quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
[11:41] <idonob> if I select another package and tickmark it's checkbox for installation, the tickmarked checkboxes for the previous set of installed software vanishes; if I untick my selection they reappear. Uncanny!
[11:42] <idonob> That's gotta be in the top 10 Weird tickbox behaviors I've ever encountered

[11:48] <marcushh777> idonob: did you apt-get update apt-get upgrade BEFORE you tried to install packages?
[11:48] <idonob> marcushh777: Yessir I did indeed
[11:48] <marcushh777> hmm
[11:48] <idonob> was a great excuse to take a nap
[11:49] <idonob> actually, I spent most of my day restarting dist-upgrade because downloads kept failing, but eventually they went through
[11:50] <marcushh777> all is good now?
[11:50] <idonob> only thing that didn't succeed was bluez and two other dependent packages; I don't have bluetooth on my pi anyhow

[22:10] <espagnol> i have a huge problem!. Im trying to sniff the keycodes from my 433MHz remote so I can use my switches with my Home Automation Server. There are a few manuals on the internet, but all of them are written for raspberry rev 1 o rev 2 and those have only 26 pins on the GPIO port. Im using a RPi3 with 40 pines so I have no idea how to use Wiring Pi. Can somebody give me a hand?
